Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher

It’s so easy to get caught up in life and to stop believing in ourselves along with our dreams. Life is not easy and it never was all along nor was it intended to be. Other than having the luxury of no financial responsibilities paired with the bliss of no self-awareness supported by naiveté, life has never been problem free. We’ve been dealing with internal & external conflicts since our existence in this world and we were actually aware of that fact innately which is where our dreams as well as our beliefs about our capabilities (of achieving them) came into play. See, our dreams and beliefs of what we’re capable of made all the current conditions (of that period) irrelevant and to some extent not even real. It’s kind of similar to when Kanye stated “I’m living in the future so the presence is my past.” Somewhere within our most inner selves we knew that our current “suffering” wouldn’t be in vain and seeing our dreams through is what would make everything worthwhile (the good, the bad and the ugly). But we never questioned if it was possible or if we’re actually capable and more importantly worthy of such. I know it’s difficult as an adult but that’s the safest headspace to reside on this courageous road of dream catching. To know you’re going to go through trials but your dream is still very much real and the actual result/reward. To remember this is what you wanted before you lived in a reality of “adulthood”. To have that reassurance that “you’re not crazy” this is what you’ve always wanted all along, remember?! If you can go back in your mind and recall having this dream, I say go after it with all your heart & drive! I say push through no matter what! I say fall 9 times, get up 10 because what doesn’t kill you truly does makes you stronger! I say keep at it for as long as you have this amazing gift we call life because at least you can you honestly say you tried and it never hurts to try with sincerity and the right intentions. I say try some more and then some. I say try again and again and again and keep on trying! But most importantly I say BELIEVE, believe like you did before way back when. Otherwise why would the thought even come to you if it weren’t possible? I say see it through so that everything else is worthwhile, I say chase and catch your dream(s) so that other dreamcatchers out there may recognize you and therefore themselves in you. I say DREAM.

Word is Bond

Word Is Bond “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God” (John1:1 )…..if I’m not mistaken I believe scripture is stating that God’s Word is his bond or even that he and all any of us ever truly have is his word, which is sufficient. How many times have you uttered or heard the phrases, “word is bond” or “all I have is my word”? I’m assuming quite enough   but I don’t think we really, fully grasp the spiritual magnitude those phrases holds. At least I know I didn’t up until I found myself back at that messy part of this healing journey, the “pain pit stop”! Where I’m experiencing a new cycle of pain and for a moment was temporarily tempted to “stop & fold at hurt” ( Blog #5, “When It Hurts-It Hurts”) simply because, well honestly, I was hurting. But then I recalled during a previous cycle of pain when I received one of the simplest yet most profound advice to simply “follow my words”. After all, my word is my bond right? See...

Note To Self- Trust The Mofo Process (TTMP)

Trust The Process Growing up, I've always heard folks amongst me say faith & fear/worry can't occupy the same space as well as worry or fear is the opposite of faith and that if you trust & have faith in God then there's no need to be worried. Now, while I agree that faith should diminish fear I've also learned that the true opposition to faith is in fact SIGHT.  I've gotten this lesson first hand through experimenting with "fortune telling". I found that even after "reading the signs"& coming to ones own interpretation or even receiving great news of things to come that I still couldn't find the peace of mind that my soul yearned to get me through the here & now and all the ups and downs it brings. After a series of lessons....& readings Allah revealed to me through a message delivered by Pastor Phil Munsey titled "Are We There Yet". See, Faith is much deeper than believing & knowing of the magn...

Peace by Piece

Peace By Piece Oftentimes when we’re looking for peace (of mind) we go on a hunt. We search through music, film, literature, speeches/lectures, therapy, interpersonal stimulating discussions & even prayer all in attempts to find a word which will bring us peace (of mind). But as we progress to yearn for true inner peace on the highest level those things seem to only scratch the surface providing the illusion of temporary peace that lasts only for as long as your program of choice. But I’ve come to find that true peace of mind is obtained piece by piece through moments of peace and quiet(ness). Only when I quiet my mind am I able to experience true peace regardless of how fleeting that moment may be/appear to be, it is real, which means in reality it is eternal, I simply have to remember to remain tuned into it. See, because as we all know oftentimes our own mind can be our worst and a lot of the times our only real enemy we have right? Or at least the only enemy w...
