Light Work(er)

“Light Work(er)” As we emerge into this great era of awakening, the spiritual path/soul’s evolutionary journey has become quite trendy. Everyone or most or at the very least a lot more than in the past seems to put emphasis on “being the light” , transcending energies and the manifestation powers of positive thinking or just our thoughts in general. This is a beautiful emergence for the Universe and its inhabitants as we all ascend /benefit from this shift and I encourage/welcome it. Yet I simply want to provide the reminder & assurance that this road is not by any means smooth and it is in fact like everything else under the laws of this Universe, work . The most Honorable Elijah Muhammad stated that “work is the greatest remedy available” , and I personally couldn’t agree more. But not just work in the sense of labor for compensation, but work in all aspects (physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually). Healing is work , aint no getting around that. Self-awa

Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher It’s so easy to get caught up in life and to stop believing in ourselves along with our dreams . Life is not easy and it never was all along nor was it intended to be. Other than having the luxury of no financial responsibilities paired with the bliss of no self-awareness supported by naiveté, life has never been problem free. We’ve been dealing with internal & external conflicts since our existence in this world and we were actually aware of that fact innately which is where our dreams as well as our beliefs about our capabilities (of achieving them) came into play. See, our dreams and beliefs of what we’re capable of made all the current conditions (of that period) irrelevant and to some extent not even real. It’s kind of similar to when Kanye stated “I’m living in the future so the presence is my past.” Somewhere within our most inner selves we knew that our current “suffering” wouldn’t be in vain and seeing our dreams through is what would make everyth

Peace by Piece

Peace By Piece Oftentimes when we’re looking for peace (of mind) we go on a hunt. We search through music, film, literature, speeches/lectures, therapy, interpersonal stimulating discussions & even prayer all in attempts to find a word which will bring us peace (of mind). But as we progress to yearn for true inner peace on the highest level those things seem to only scratch the surface providing the illusion of temporary peace that lasts only for as long as your program of choice. But I’ve come to find that true peace of mind is obtained piece by piece through moments of peace and quiet(ness). Only when I quiet my mind am I able to experience true peace regardless of how fleeting that moment may be/appear to be, it is real, which means in reality it is eternal, I simply have to remember to remain tuned into it. See, because as we all know oftentimes our own mind can be our worst and a lot of the times our only real enemy we have right? Or at least the only enemy w

Grace (God's)

Grace (God's) Grace , divine favor bestowed freely on people as in granting redemption from sin. An excellence or power granted by God. A short prayer of blessing or thanksgiving said before or after a meal. Seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form or proportion. A disposition to be generous or helpful, goodwill. These are different definitions or rather perceptions of what Grace is/can be. To put it simply I perceive Grace to be an undeserving new chance or beginning. The opportunity to start all over, regardless the prior or current circumstances. If you’re anything like me I bet, you often wonder “why does God give his Grace so generously?” Well, I think he simply has no choice or else the world as we know it would have to just cease to exist because without Grace (God’s) or even the grace of one another everything, person & idea would cease to be. If God almighty no longer wanted to provide you and I with his Grace, he’d simply take our

To Live & Die in LA (Home)

To Live & Die in LA (Home) Some say, “ Home is where the heart is.” I say, “The heart is where home is ” or better yet “the heart is home.” Now, whether this is just some fancy play on words or if those subtle changes in words actually have significance is up to you, but I know for me having “my heart in home” and “home in my heart” is a significant difference. See, love is our true divine home and the heart is where love resides, but love is too abundant & eternal to be tied down to one place, person or thing.   For many Home is considered to be a special place that whenever you feel alone/lost in this world you can turn to and find peace, familiarity, comfort, acceptance and most importantly unconditional love. And I used to share these same sentiments until my “Home away from Home” , Los Angeles provided me with the duality of struggle/discomfort coupled with freedom that I was able to discover/experience what truly constitutes a “Home” . See, when I first
