Note to Self: “It’s Above Me”
(A Word)
Now, usually I try & stray from doing the cheesy “preacher spin” on the current culture trends but in true “seeker of truth” nature, when Allah speaks to me I must take heed regardless of its messenger. Ya know the constant reminder that has been consistent throughout my journey of “enlightenment” is that this current world we’re experiencing is an illusionary world. Now, that statement could be confusing with the reality of the universal law of cause and effect such as going outside while it’s raining without an umbrella resulting in one being soak & wet, clearly that is not necessarily an illusion....but, in the next instance the sun could very well come out (which has happened) and if that same individual remains within the rays of the sun long enough then sure enough they will become dry again and practically everything that was caused by the wetness of the rain will be undone (unless you have 4C hair like me LOL). But seriously, I think the overall tone of this whole “message of illusion” is that things are always changing in this world and the effects of an occurrence that proceeds the current moment can cause the effects to the current moment to feel irrelevant as if it never occurred. Now this is slightly true yet at the same time all things are connected as this phenomenon we call “life” is pretty much a continuing of moments shaped by the universal law of cause & effect. The catch is “it’s above us”. There is an infinite intelligence/wisdom that is the magnificent force and power responsible for this entire existence while we all are having our own individual experiences of the same event, and that’s what causes it to be an illusion. See, recently some things were revealed to me via divine events that had taken place which initially appeared to be an attack (from the enemy) which it was but it was also much more/deeper than that because in reality “it’s above me” and in fact working for my greatest good. See whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual, agnostic, skeptic, pragmatic or whatever else, we all possess that instinct knowing that “we can only do so much” and beyond that it’s out of our hands (above us). It might come in the form of “this battle is the Lords” “the laws of nature” “that’s the name of the game” or simply “it’s just apart of life” either way it leads back to the reality that it is indeed above us. We have the power of our choices disguised as “free will” but just because one decides to not go to sleep doesn’t assure that the night won’t come, it’ll simply mean one decided to stay up throughout the night or if one decides to sleep in the day will still come whether they awaken or not simply because, “it’s above us”. Certain things will happen and cause different effects in our lives, but it’s important to remember “it’s above me” and my illusionary experience. Now am I suggesting one to go out in the rain without an umbrella without the desire to get wet, absolutely not. However, there are some things you will have completely no actual way knowing other than experience which deprives you of the opportunity to adequately prepare especially when you factor man’s will/choices into the equation. Recently I’ve been force fed this mantra from a young family member passing over completely unexpectedly, to being totally powerless to the powerlessness of a mentally ill loved one and simply getting caught in the crossfire of the bad character of others. I really had to grasp the idea that “it’s above me”. So, this weekend and here on whether I’m going to an audition, attempt to make my financial quota at my survival job or simply at the mercy of the timing of Los Angeles public transportation & lyft/Uber, I will take note that “it’s above me” because it truly is. It’s about the grand scheme of my destiny and those who's destinies that are connected to my destiny which is in turn connected to someone else’s destiny. It’s abouy how my personal experiences can benefit someone else who will then benefit another and ultimately bless the Universe and therefore bless us all. See we only ever truly experience our very own experiences no matter how great our capacity to empathize but that particular experience is an illusion due to its individuality via being our own isolated experience and the Universe doesn’t operate in incompleteness as it only know wholeness which is what make it a reality rather than an illusion. But our isolated experiences wouldn’t have such an impact on our existence if we only stop to consider “it’s above me”.
