Word Is Bond
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was
with God and the Word was God” (John1:1)…..if
I’m not mistaken I believe scripture is
stating that God’s Word is his bond or even that he and all any of us ever
truly have is his word, which is sufficient. How many times have you uttered or
heard the phrases, “word is bond” or “all I have is my word”? I’m
assuming quite enough but I don’t think
we really, fully grasp the spiritual magnitude those phrases holds. At least I
know I didn’t up until I found myself back at that messy part of this healing
journey, the “pain pit stop”! Where I’m experiencing a new cycle of pain and
for a moment was temporarily tempted to “stop
& fold at hurt” ( Blog #5,
“When It Hurts-It Hurts”) simply because, well honestly, I was hurting. But
then I recalled during a previous cycle of pain when I received one of the simplest
yet most profound advice to simply “follow my words”. After all, my word is my bond
right? See, someone suggested that my blog “ActressAmiraAscending”
wasn’t necessarily for the enlightenment of my audience/viewers per se but
rather for my future self. She proposed that perhaps somewhere deep within my
infinite access to my own wisdom my most inner self knew that I, myself would
need the very words that I have written. At first I kind of brushed it off as
some silly form of “Baduizm” that wasn’t going to serve any purpose in my
healing (process), but it turns out they were right! I went back and revisited my
early blogs and found the exact encouragement that I needed, a sense of peace
& reassurement (this too shall pass) in my own words written to
encourage/support others going through similar experiences. See, the truth is
all we ever have is our words because we are the words made manifest. And if we
simply “follow our words” like the yellow brick road we will make it to the
other side of our healing/home. But we must first seek our word(s) through
cycles of joy & pain and of course healing & growing. We essentially
have to take the risk of losing ourselves for the sake of not only finding but
also becoming our most authentic selves. Our words are already there within us
waiting to be made manifest through evolving into our higher selves via “trial
and error”. Perhaps that’s why you’re here on this blog right now reading these
words, because the words that are within me resonates with the words that are
within you and “the soul thrills at
what it already knows” (Marianne Williamson). There’s nothing new under
the sun, simply reminders of what we forgot we knew and are reminded through a
word. See your word isn’t your bond simply as a promise/bond to others
or even ourselves but rather an eternal bond with the Universe and the divine
creator/source. So, if you should ever find yourself feeling lonely, out casted, abandoned or even heartbroken on this courageous road of soul searching, turn
to your own word(s) for comfort & company because that’s all you ever truly
have/possess but it’s also your bond to the Divine and infinite
intelligence/wisdom. To some this may sound pretty lonesome but I say you’re in
not only in excellent but benevolent company! After all, “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word
was God” May you forever find solace in your word(s).
“As I minister to you, Oh I minister to myself…..speak over yourself,
encourage yourself in the Lord”
-Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers
Beautiful! I never really thought words being true bonds! I always believed that our words have power, coupled with the fact that out words are building blocks needed for this journey, it just reminds me -- even more -- to say what I mean and mean what I say. Keep up coming! Your place is in the revolution!
